PRENATAL

• Complete prenatal care

• No charge meet and greet appointment to see if the midwife and/or midwifery is a good fit for you

• Thorough prenatal appointments, with initial visits that are ~60-90 minutes and subsequent visits ~30-60 minutes

• Appointments every 4 weeks to 28 weeks gestation

• Appointments every 2 weeks from 28 weeks to 36 weeks

• Appointment every week from 36 weeks until birth

• Referrals to specialists as indicated, including ultrasound imaging

• Home visit at ~37 weeks for families planning a home birth



BIRTH

• Planned ​out-of-hospital births at birth center, home or hospital 

• Continuity of care for hospital-transferred clients

• Water birth (85+% of our clients deliver into water)

• Birth tub rentals for homebirths

• Newborn exam with standard medications available, if wanted

• Suturing as needed

• Active labor attended with a midwife + assistants. 

• Resources for local doulas to offer support during labor and birth. The presence of a doula significantly increases your chances of a successful "out-of-hospital" birth.

• We will attend home births that are up to 45 minutes from Enumclaw, WA. This radius typically covers cities of Auburn, Black Diamond, Bonney Lake, Buckley, Covington, Edgewood, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Fife, Issaquah, Kent, Maple Valley, Orting, Prairie Ridge, Puyallup, South Hill, Sumner, Tacoma,  & more. 
   

POSTPARTUM

• Approximately 5 postpartum visits at 1-2 days, 3-5 days, 7-14 days, 3-4 weeks, 6-8 weeks. 

• Breastfeeding support

• Referrals to lactation support specialists as needed

• Baby exams and weight checks

• Newborn metabolic screen

• Critical congenital heart defect screen

• Newborn hearing screen

• Bilirubin/jaundice testing

• Maternal exams as needed

• Pap smear as needed at 6-8 week visit
